But with so many clinics, it’s hard to point out which one will actually deliver good and safe tummy tucks.
That’s when we come in! We, the writing team at Auckland Magazine, did the research for you and gathered feedback from people to find the best clinics in the city. Here’s who made it onto our list!

Every patient we talked to about Stanley Loo raved about how relieved they were to finally get rid of their loose skin and loved the significant weight loss after their tummy tucks.
We appreciate his focus on tightening the underlying abdominal muscles. Many patients have shared how this has significantly improved their core strength and posture post-surgery.
We also like how he sculpts a more defined waistline, giving that sought-after hourglass figure. Former patients we talked to said they felt more confident with their flatter and more youthful-looking abdomens.
After browsing through his online gallery and seeing real-life results, we have to say— the results speak for themselves. From subtle refinements to major transformations after multiple pregnancies, it’s clear he tailors each procedure to the patient.
We also love that the aftercare at Ormiston Hospital includes a comfortable one- to two-night stay with attentive medical staff. Patients have told us this makes the initial recovery much smoother.
However, others have mentioned that scheduling follow-up appointments through reception could be more efficient.

Dr. Stephen Mills stood out to us for his straightforward approach. We loved how his initial consultations cut through the confusion.
One thing patients consistently praise is how thoroughly he explains which type of tummy tuck would be best for them, whether it’s mini or full.
We love that he doesn’t rush this step. He takes the time to assess and examine the skin elasticity and fat deposits and even checks for hernias and abdominal wall weakness.
Several of Dr. Mills’ patients shared that after years of feeling self-conscious, their tummy tucks gave them back the confidence to wear the clothes they wanted.
We also appreciate that Dr. Mills helps his patients understand the recovery process thoroughly. We like how he provides detailed instructions and support in healing your abdomen scar so that it disappears quickly (within a year).
We’re just disappointed at how slow the communication with the front desk can be at times when trying to schedule appointments.

What we love about Dr. Glenn Bartlett’s tummy tuck service is there’s a dedicated specialist nurse from the very first consultation. It helps the patients feel heard and understood when there’s someone with them every step of the process.
We also appreciate that Dr. Bartlett takes time to show before-and-after photos. Patients told us that seeing realistic results helped them visualize their own potential outcomes.
There were a few photos in particular that mirrored their desired shape, and it solidified their confidence in Dr. Bartlett’s expertise.
During surgery, Dr. Bartlett is meticulous. We appreciate how he strategically performs liposuction in the upper abdomen while being more conservative in the lower area.
This careful layering approach not only reduces upper fullness but also ensures proper blood flow.
Post-operatively, the focus on circulation is exceptional. Patients raved about the compression stockings and calf compression pumps they were provided..
However, a few patients expressed disappointment with the follow-up communication. They told us the staff seemed dismissive and rushed.

We love that Dr. De Chalain offers multiple consultations before you decide to have a tummy tuck. You have ample time to ask questions and feel fully informed before committing, and the fact that they are free is a bonus.
Patients we talked to also appreciated how Dr Chalain patiently answered all their questions, from the different types of tummy tucks to the potential results they can achieve.
Others loved the natural-looking results and being able to look in the mirror without feeling insecure.
Another plus is the attentive aftercare. We appreciate the nurses visiting during the initial recovery time and helping patients adjust their abdominal binders.
The only thing we didn’t love is that contacting Dr. Chalain to schedule that initial consultation can sometimes be difficult. He doesn’t always answer the phone, and sometimes the receptionists don’t call you back.

We love that Dr. Mark Gittos specializes in abdominoplasty and mummy makeovers. However, he only works with patients with a BMI under 28 who are willing to give up smoking for good.
While his strict criteria means some aren’t eligible for his services, we value that he prioritises his patients’ healthcare.
We also love that he can do six different types of tummy tucks. Aside from mini and full tummy tucks, he can also perform extended and belt lipectomy. He’s also skilled in reverse and vertical tummy tucks.
Mothers who got the mini tummy tuck appreciated how he addressed their minor post-pregnancy skin laxity and helped them feel confident wearing jeans again.
Others who went with the full tummy tuck liked the helpful tips he shared for muscle repair and weight loss.

The hospital in Pukekohe was really good, despite being out of town. Georgia’s follow up was awesome, and very calming. This was important, as Mark’s travel schedule meant he was overseas for a significant part of my recovery. I had no complications so that wasn’t a problem.
