The Best 3 IVF Clinics in Auckland to Get the Baby You Want

ivf-clinics-in-auckland
We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.
  • Breadth of IVF Services: We looked at the range of IVF treatments available. We specifically looked for clinics that were equipped to handle a variety of fertility challenges with a comprehensive toolkit of treatments.
  • Patient Experience: We listened to different couples' experiences and factored in their feedback. We paid attention to mentions of nurse support and if they were readily available.
  • Credentials: We looked at how long clinics had been operating in Auckland. We also verified qualifications and accreditations, like Certification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI) accreditation for specialists and Reproductive Technology Accreditation Committee (RTAC) accreditation for clinics.
  • Funding Factor: We specifically looked at whether clinics offered either publicly funded or private treatment pathways.
  • We factored in the clarity of information around costs for private treatment and the availability of options like refund packages to get a sense of the overall financial accessibility and transparency of each clinic.

Making a baby isn’t always easy. It’s a game of luck and biology. Some couples get lucky right away, while others face a tougher journey.

If you’re in the latter group, you might have already had a taste of the less-than-stellar side of the fertility industry. We’re talking waiting room vibe that’s more mortuary than maternity ward, and the ‘care’ that feels about as personal as a tax audit.

It’s enough to make you wonder if your best bet is just adopting a cat and calling it a day.  But don’t give up just yet!

We understand how exhausting this journey can be. That’s why we’ve investigated the IVF clinics around us to find ones that stand out. These clinics not only offer top-notch treatment but also treat you with care and respect.

Here are the best IVF clinics in Vancouver to help you on your path to parenthood.

How much does it cost to get IVF treatment in Auckland?

It costs at least 11,500 NZD to get one cycle of IVF treatment in Auckland.

This is just an estimate. The actual price will vary depending on how many IVF cycle treatments you get and more

1. Fertility Plus

Fertility Plus has been at the forefront of IVF treatment for over 35 years.

What really makes them stand out, though, is that they’re a part of the public health system. They work alongside all specialists, allowing them to cover all bases in case something goes wrong during your IVF treatment.

We love how they also offer both publicly funded and private options.

As for the IVF process itself, they’ve got everything you can think of—ovarian stimulation, egg collection, embryo transfer, and more.

We like how they have a single embryo transfer policy. They do this to prevent ‘avoidable’ multiple pregnancies.

Younger mothers appreciate this because it increases the chances of their single embryo to develop into a healthy pregnancy.

However, this could be a downside for women who want multiple pregnancies at once. It’s also not the best option for older women.

However, some did tell us that their doctors can be a bit clinical here. Some felt the doctors were incredibly knowledgeable, no doubt, but lacked that personal touch.

Pros

  • Offers both publicly and privately funded options
  • Comprehensive IVF process
  • Excellent nurses
  • Part of the public health system

Cons

  • Doctors sometimes are too clinical
  • Single embryo policy could be a downside for those wanting multiple pregnancies

Absolutely amazing team at Fertility Plus.

“Absolutely amazing team at Fertility Plus. Both clinical and non-clinical staff were super friendly, knowledgeable and caring. Never felt more supported. Very happy to have chosen Fertility Plus as the provider for my fertility journey. Thank you!”

They made me feel so secure

“The warmest, friendliest and most supportive fertility clinic there is. They made me feel so secure and informed throughout the whole process. Embryologists give you all the time you need to discuss your plan (Helen Morgan in particular).”

When it comes to Fertility Associates IVF services, we love that they focus on individualized treatment plans.

They take the time to figure out what’s the best route for you and help you tailor the IVF to your situation.

We appreciate that they do assist hatching, where they make a tiny hole in the embryo shell before putting it back in. The idea is to give the embryo a little bit of a helping hand to implant.

We also like how they use embryo glue for the embryo transfer. Since embryo glue has hyaluronic acid in it, which is naturally found in the uterus, it makes implantation go a lot smoother.

Another thing we appreciate is their fertility cover package. It’s basically a refund deal if things don’t work out after a few cycles.

People love how it covers up to three full IVF cycles and any frozen embryo transfers they might have.

The only downside is Fertility Associates has a long waitlist. It can be a bit of a drag, as in months before you begin any sort of treatment.

Pros

  • Focus on individualised treatment plans
  • Offers assisted hatching
  • Uses embryo glue for embryo transfer
  • Fertility cover package (refund deal)

Cons

  • Long waitlist

We felt a sense of ease and support never experienced

“We were feeling defeated after some time had passed with no success for second baby. We chose to see Sunil Pillay as an attempt to see if we could get any traction.  From the beginning with Sunil we felt a sense of ease and support never experienced. He kept us updated and well informed. He is invested in the journey with you. We are now expecting our second baby mid this year. I still keep Sunil updated with the progress even though we are no longer under his care, a celebration very much possible because of him. Best of luck to all still on the journey.”

3. Repromed New Zealand

Operating Hours:

  • Monday, Wednesday & Friday – 8 AM to 5 PM
  • Tuesday & Thursday- 8 AM to 7 PM

We love that Repromed chucks in a free 15-minute phone call with a fertility doctor for new clients of theirs.

In the grand scheme of IVF, 15 minutes isn’t ages, but we think it’s enough time for you to get a feel for IVF treatment. We also appreciate how they’re part of the public funding system, which is a big consideration for many.

We like that they offer two types of IVF treatments here: standard IVF and ICSI. For standard IVF, they basically mix the prepared sperm with the eggs in a dish and let nature take course overnight.

However, for ICSI (intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection), they pick a single healthy sperm and inject it right into the egg.

While it’s a bit more hands-on, several couples told us it’s helped them overcome a lot of fertilization hurdles, especially when their sperm counts were low.

But when it comes to customer service, many told us they weren’t met with timely responses or the emotional support they needed.

Another thing too—you’ll be waiting on the waitlist for about 15 to 18 months. Now for some, that might be manageable, but for others that’s a heck of a long wait.

Pros

  • Free 15 minute consultation
  • Part of the public funding system
  • Offers standard IVF and ICSI
  • Helpful ICSI for low sperm counts

Cons

  • Customer service issues
  • Long waitlist (15 to 18 months)

I’m really happy with the results I got

“Had a great experience with egg freezing with Repromed. Everyone is super friendly, informative, and encouraging. I found the nursing team especially caring and thorough. I’m really happy with the results I got and the care I received from consultation through recovery.

It’s not cheap, but reasonable considering what it is, and costs were about what I expected and what I was quoted at the start.

Would recommend to anyone seeking similar fertility treatment in Auckland.”

They really listen to your concerns

“The doctors and nurses here are so kind and compassionate. They really listen to your concerns and no question is deemed irrelevant. While there were some lifestyle changes that were suggested to me to optimize the treatment, but it was never used as barrier to our end goal. All emails were responded to the same day or early next morning. Everything was explained so well and I had all the info to make an informed choice about my treatments. Currently holding my 2 week old baby girl and couldn’t be more thrilled. Thank you Dr Gudex and the team.”
