Breast implants—you either love them or hate them. There’s no in-between.
But those “too good to be true” deals and the horror stories circulating online? Yeah, those are enough to make anyone decide against them.
We’ve seen disastrous results, heard of botched procedures, and encountered clinics that seem more interested in profits than patient well-being. This led us to research and conduct patient interviews at the best breast augmentation clinics in the city.
As a result, we’re sharing our findings on the top experts in Auckland for breast implants—so you can finally say “yes” to those enhancements without the fear of a nightmare.
How much does it cost to get breast implants in Auckland?
It costs at least 18,000 NZD to get breast implants in Auckland.
However, this price is an estimate. The final cost varies based on factors such as the type of implant, the surgeon’s expertise, and other considerations.
1. Dr. Mark Gittos

Address: 2/187 Jervois Road, Herne Bay
Contact Details: +64 9 529 5352
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Thursday- 9 AM to 4:30 PM
- Friday – 9 AM to 3 PM
Dr. Gittos’s impressive track record—over 4,000 breast augmentations—initially drew us to him. We were immediately impressed by the results showcased in his gallery.
We loved that the results looked natural, enhancing rather than drastically altering the body’s shape.
We appreciate that Dr. Gittos takes the time to understand his patients’ goals during the initial consultation and doesn’t pressure them to decide.
He offers a range of high-quality implants, primarily Motiva. He also expertly guides patients through the nuances of saline versus silicone, round versus anatomical shapes, and various sizes.
We admire his focus on long-term implant safety and longevity. In fact, people who have undergone breast augmentation with Dr. Gittos consistently praise his surgical precision and the use of dissolving stitches.
While Dr. Gittos’s skill is undeniable, some patients have reported discrepancies between the initial quote and the final bill. This lack of transparency can result in unexpected financial burdens and diminish trust in the process.
Explains options thoroughly
“I had very obvious asymmetry in my teens, after having several breast augmentations and still unhappy with my results, by chance approx. 30 years ago I met Dr Mark Gittos.
At the time I was so confused what to do next, Mark took the time to explain to me my options.
Mark performed a couple of breast augmentations during this time, (my body changing with age) both times I have been extremely happy with the results. Now 52 years old I decided it was time to give up breast implants, so last month I had them removed, with a little fat transfer to plump up the breast which caused the asymmetry in the first place. I am so so so pleased with the results and my natural breasts, Mark is an amazing surgeon and a friend, in my opinion he is an absolute expert in his field. A big THANK YOU Mark, I was so lucky to have met you 30 years ago!”

Little to no pain recovery
“Mark Gittos did my Breast Augmentation 4 months ago and I could not fault him. The experience from getting the procedure done on the day was impeccable and recovery was amazing little to no pain at all. Going over the muscle was the best decision and I couldn’t be happier! You are in very safe hands with Mark.”

Her surgical precision consistently yields natural-looking results with smoothly integrated implants.

One patient shared that during her initial consultation, she appreciated how Dr. Mackenzie took the time to understand each patient’s anatomy, lifestyle, and aesthetic goals. This thoughtful approach made the experience feel highly personalized.
The only potential drawback most patients encountered was the high consultation fee. While the consultation was thorough, budget-conscious individuals should be aware of this.
Regardless, many felt utterly comfortable and confident throughout the process. The post-operative care was exceptional, and people loved the easy instructions.
Top-notch communication throughout
“So glad I found this brilliant lady, after having previous consults I was nearly about to give up. She was absolutely lovely on the initial consult, very honest, highly organized & efficient. 3. Dr. Stanley Loo

Address: Auckland Plastic Surgery Group Unit 6/31 Highbrook Drive, East Tāmaki
Contact Details: +64 9 220 2580
Operating Hours: Monday to Wednesday, Friday – 8 AM to 6 PM
From the initial consultation to post-operative care, Dr. Loo and his team clearly care about their patients’ well-being.
We love that Dr. Loo takes the time to really listen to patients’ concerns and answer all their questions thoroughly.
One of the things we appreciated most was his detailed explanations of the different implant placement options (submuscular vs. subglandular).
He explained that submuscular placement involves placing the implant beneath the chest muscle, which can provide a more natural look and feel.
Meanwhile, subglandular placement involves placing the implant beneath the breast tissue, which can result in a more sculpted look.
We also like that a key part of Dr. Loo’s focus on minimizing discomfort and optimizing recovery is his use of dissolving sutures. The scarring was minimal in all the before and after pics we saw.
Moreover, we admire the clear post-op instructions, readily available support, and regular follow-up appointments.
However, a few patients reported that the receptionist staff were rude.
Kind and patient surgeon
“Stanley is a kind, patient surgeon who responded to all of my queries in a timely fashion. I am very pleased with my results and his calm, professional manner put me at great ease during the entire process. Thank you Stanley for making me feel so comfortable despite it being my first surgery. Highly recommend.”
